1 Corinthians 12:4-11 says,
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."
The Holy Spirit distributes gifts such as prophecy, healing, tongues, and discernment to equip believers for ministry and strengthen the Church.
Story of the Disciples Learning Week 5
As the early Church grew, the disciples faced the challenge of meeting the needs of the growing community. Peter, James, and John were praying together when Peter said, "How can we possibly care for everyone? There are so many needs."
John replied, "Jesus promised the Spirit would give us gifts to serve others. We need to trust Him to equip us."
James added, "The Spirit doesn’t give gifts for our own benefit but to build up the Church."
Andrew, ever practical, said, "But how do we know what gifts we have? How do we use them?"
Philip, who had been reflecting on Jesus’ teachings, shared, "The Spirit distributes gifts as He wills. We just need to be open and willing to serve."
