Module 3: Exercising Faith and Living Christ Daily
Lesson 1: Faith in Action — Practical Steps to Exercise Your Faith
Objective: Understand that genuine faith requires active participation—trusting God and putting love into action.
Introduction:
Faith is not just believing; it’s trusting and acting on that trust. True faith is demonstrated through deeds such as serving, obeying, and sharing God’s love.
Biblical Examples:
- James 2:17: “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
- Matthew 8:26: Jesus rebuked the disciples for their little faith when they feared the storm.
- Hebrews 11: The chapter of faith shows how faith is demonstrated through action—Abraham, Noah, and others trusted and obeyed God.
Key Points:
- Faith must be expressed through acts of love, obedience, and service.
- The more we act in faith, the more our trust in God grows.
- Faith isn’t about perfect results, but about trusting God in every step.
Activities:
- Personal Reflection: Think of a situation in your life where you need to trust God more. How can you step out in faith today?
- Practical Step: Identify one act of kindness or service you can do this week to exercise your faith.
Lesson 2: Speaking Christ to Others — Share His Love
Objective: Cultivate the habit of speaking life, encouragement, and Christ’s truth to those around you daily.
Introduction:
Our words have power. Speaking about Jesus—sharing your testimony or encouraging others—builds faith in you and in those who listen.
Biblical Inspiration:
- Acts 4:20: “We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
- Romans 10:14: How can people believe unless they hear? We are called to proclaim Christ.
- Jesus’ example: Spoke about the kingdom, healed, and encouraged.
Practical Tips:
- Every day, find one way to speak about Jesus—this could be a Scripture, a word of encouragement, or sharing how Jesus has helped you.
- Be intentional in your conversations—look for opportunities where your words can uplift others.
Activities:
- Reflect and Record: Write down how you shared Christ or encouraged someone today.
- Challenge: Share a Bible verse or personal testimony with at least one person this week.
Lesson 3: Walking in the Spirit — Daily Guidance and Power
Objective: Learn how to live daily by walking in the Spirit, making your decisions and actions guided by Him.
Introduction:
Walking in the Spirit means living moment-by-moment with God’s guidance. It’s trusting that the Holy Spirit leads us in love, patience, and wisdom.
Biblical Foundation:
- Galatians 5:16: “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
- Romans 8:4: “Walk according to the Spirit, and you will live rightly before God.”
Practical Steps:
- Start each day with a prayer inviting the Spirit to lead your thoughts, words, and actions.
- During the day, pause and ask, “Is this what the Spirit would have me do?”
- Practice patience, forgiveness, and kindness based on the Spirit’s prompting.
Activities:
- Morning Prayer: Begin each day asking the Spirit for guidance.
- Spirit Journal: Keep a daily record of moments when you felt led by the Spirit.
- Choose one Spirit-led action: To do each day—such as forgiving someone, helping a neighbor, or speaking words of encouragement.
Summary of Module 3:
- Faith is active—trust God and demonstrate your faith through deeds.
- Speak life and Christ’s love daily—your words can build others up.
- Walk in the Spirit each day—trust Him to guide your choices and actions.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us the gift of faith and the Holy Spirit to guide us each day. We desire to live out our faith actively—trusting You, sharing Your love, and walking according to Your Spirit.
Help us to step forward with courage and obedience, knowing that even small acts of faith and words of kindness can make a big difference. Fill us with Your Spirit each morning, and guide us in every decision so that we reflect Jesus in our words and actions.
Teach us to speak life and hope to others, and to listen for Your guidance in all we do. Thank You that as we exercise our faith daily, we grow stronger and more like Jesus.
We love You, Lord, and commit ourselves to living out Your Word today and every day.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
Activity Ideas:
- Faith in Action Journal: Keep a journal for one week. Each day, write down one way you exercised your faith—an act of service, prayer, or obedience—and how it made you feel.
- Word of the Day: Choose a Bible verse each day to meditate on and speak over your life and family.
- Encouragement Challenge: Each day, find one person to encourage with kind words, a Scripture, or a prayer.
- Spirit-led Decisions: During your quiet time, ask the Holy Spirit to guide one decision or action you will take that day, and then share your experience at the end of the day.
The Harris Family’s Daily Walk of Faith
One busy Tuesday morning, Steve sat at the breakfast table, thinking about how they could grow stronger in their spiritual walk. He remembered a message from church about how faith, words, and walking in the Spirit are like muscles that need daily exercise. Smiling, he turned to Nancy and said, “What if we make it our goal to actively exercise our faith every day — to step out, speak life, and listen to the Spirit?”
Nancy beamed. “Yes! And we can do it with love, patience, kindness, and all the fruits of the Spirit Jesus wants to grow in us.”
Ethan, their oldest, perked up. “So, if I trust Jesus and start helping more around the house, I’m exercising my faith? And when I speak kind words to my friends, I’m using the gifts of encouragement?”
“Exactly,” Nancy said. “And as we call on Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us daily, we’re strengthening all those gifts and fruits He wants to develop in us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
That morning, they made a simple family plan: each day, they would praise Jesus with a song, read a Bible verse, and ask the Spirit to help them show His fruits and use their gifts. Ethan decided to start encouraging his classmates, Lily planned to share Scripture with her friends, and Noah wanted to help Nancy by doing kind deeds.
Throughout that day, Ethan looked for ways to show patience and kindness, especially with his younger brother. Lily comforted a friend who was upset, while Nancy practiced forgiveness when her co-worker made a mistake. Steve called on the Spirit to guide his decision-making at work and in his interactions.
At dinner, Nancy shared, “When I call on Jesus and lean on His Spirit, I notice my words are more gentle, and I have more peace inside. That’s the fruit of patience and gentleness—growing in my heart!”
Ethan said, “When I prayed for my friends and helped them, I felt more joy and also saw God’s gift of encouragement working through me.”
Steve added, “And when we make calling on Jesus and practicing His Spirit part of our daily habits, we’re building stronger muscles for our faith and our gifts. Just like a runner gets faster and stronger with training, we grow into more loving, patient, and joyful followers of Christ.”
In the coming days and weeks, they saw how their acts of faith—trusting and obeying—motivate the gifts of the Spirit to work stronger in them. Their love became more genuine, their patience more enduring, and their kindness more natural.
One evening, Steve gathered everyone and said, “This is the race we’re running—every day, exercising our faith, speaking words of life, and walking in the Spirit. When we do this, we’re not only growing stronger ourselves, but we’re also showing others Jesus’ love through the fruits and gifts of the Spirit.”
From that day on, the Harris family committed to daily exercises of faith, speaking Christ, and walking in the Spirit—knowing that their faith muscles would grow stronger, and their lives would reflect Jesus more clearly. Through their consistent effort, they became more filled with love, peace, patience, and the other fruits of the Spirit, and more equipped with gifts to serve others in His name.
