Spirit of Poverty
The Bible teaches about poverty and its effects on people. To write or speak about a spirit of poverty does not fall into the arena of prosperity teaching. A spirit of poverty has nothing to do with how much anyone owns, what they eat, or what they wear. A spirit of poverty can oppress, and not infrequently does, wealthy people.
This spirit does not oppress many people who are below the "poverty level." It has nothing to do with wealth or lack thereof. It is related to greed and fear of loss.
A demonic spirit that has access to sin and iniquity in the areas of giving and receiving is known as a spirit of poverty. It operates generationally through iniquity; therefore, it is a familiar (or family-line) spirit. This spirit is related to Belial, the destroyer, described in Psalm 18:4 and 2 Corinthians 6:15. A spirit of poverty is a condition in a person, a people, and/or a land.

Overcoming demonic forces and destroying Satan's strongholds to combat the human soul
Demons are pre-Adamic, malevolent lords of the invisible realm—fallen angels who descended to Earth with Lucifer; they are the reason for the destruction of the planet, as recorded in Genesis 1:2.
At the moment, those malevolent entities have taken over "the second heaven" and key locations in the afterlife. They have erected demonic, supernatural strongholds to oppose the saints, the truth, and the Kingdom of God.
Satan is referred to as "the ruler of the kingdom of the air" or "the prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2.
The vast majority of demonic spirits in the afterlife, as well as the powerful evil princes of darkness who dominate this planet, are those satanic entities.
Identifying the strong man is the first step towards delivering someone who is possessed, obsessed, controlled, or under the influence of demonic spirits.
You have to bind the strong man, replied Jesus.
Don't bind if you can't discern! Otherwise, how can someone enter a strong man's home and destroy his belongings unless they first tie the strong man?
and he'll ruin his house after that.

According to the Amplified Bible, it is not possible for someone to enter a strong man's home and take all of his belongings without first tying up the guy. Then, in fact, he might rob his home.
If a Christian experiences a break in the Holy Spirit's presence, it leaves a vacuum, and Satan is hunting for it. After that, his influence becomes oppressive.
The devil's strategy is as follows: each demon that has departed will make a follow-up to check if the chance is still there. And it will bring others with it if given the chance. By remaining fully filled with the Holy Spirit and never breaching your bond with God, such a terrifying circumstance can be avoided.
The King James Version's verses 22 through 28 are as follows:
Then a devil-possessed man who was dumb and blind was brought before him. He healed him to the point where the dumb and blind man could now see and speak. Astonished, everyone exclaimed, "Isn't this the son of David?" Upon hearing this, the Pharisees responded, "This man does not drive out devils; rather, Beelzebub, the prince of the devils, does."
Knowing what was going through their minds, Jesus told them, "Every city or house divided against itself shall not stand; and every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation." And if Satan drives out Satan, then Satan is split against himself; what will become of his kingdom?
And if I, Beelzebub, drove out devils, then by whom do your offspring accomplish the same? They will serve as your judges.
But the Kingdom of God is coming to you if I drive out devils with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Here, Christ is demonstrating His divine mission in general and His power over Satan in particular.
The victory of Christ demonstrates God's grand plan for sending the Saviour into the world: to demolish the devil's handiwork. He expresses sincere hope for the endeavour's success here as well.
The dumb spoke instantly, echoed God's word, and opened their lips to give Him praise as the devil was driven out by the power of Christ's message.
This miracle had an impact on some people. The people were in awe of God's power and puzzled. Some took exception at it and, in an attempt to defend their adultery, asserted that He had teamed up with Beelzebub, the lord of the devils, to carry out this action.
As Jesus empowered the Pharisees to drive out the devil's demons, He asked them, "If what you say is true, that Satan is fighting against himself, how can his kingdom survive?" Furthermore, if Satan is my source of strength, what about your own adherents? Because they drove demons out! Do you believe this establishes Satan's possession over them? Find out if they agree with you!
You see, Jesus was letting them know that those who adhere to their particular religion approach cases of demonic influence and oppression by utilising evil authority. However, He declared, "It proves that the Kingdom of God has arrived if I am casting out demons with the Power of God." By the power of God's Spirit, Jesus cast out devils.
Recall what verse 29 says about him:
Or, to put it another way, unless someone ties up the strong man beforehand, how can someone enter his home and take his belongings?
He can then rob him of his home.

Summary Demons are pre-Adamic, and they are territorial. Most people and things that are in barren, unproductive, unfruitful, or infertile states are controlled or influenced by demons. Principalities and powers rule and control the world of obscenity, violence, chaos, and darkness. Their aim is to cause despair, depression, disorder, and darkness. They aim to steal, kill, and destroy. The thief cometh not for to steal, to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 KJV
The devil is the adversary of mankind; he is antagonistic against God and against His kingdom. But Jesus came so that we might have eternal life. He is the only good shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep (v. 11).
You have to destroy the demonic to build the heavens. You destroy them with worship and prayer.
To deliver a person who is possessed, obsessed, under control, or under the influence of evil spirits, first discern the strong man. Jesus said you must bind the strong man. If you don’t discern, don’t bind! “Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods unless he first binds the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.” Matt 12:29 KJV
Most people don’t like to talk about demons. Most preachers don’t preach about them. Many Christians don’t discuss them. And sinners erase the dreadful topic from their minds. It’s like a politician avoiding the subjects of drugs and crime, thinking that somehow they will just go away. But Christ addressed the issue without fear but with great authority. He talked about how demons are eager to invade human life.
Jesus said to the Pharisees: When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he said, I will return to my house from whence I came out, and when he came, he found it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so, it shall also be to this wicked generation. Matt 12:43–45 KJV
If, for any reason, the presence of the Holy Spirit leaves a Christian, a vacuum is created, and that is exactly what Satan is looking for. Then his influence turns into oppression. The devil’s plan of attack is this: every demon that has left will pay a return visit to see if the opportunity is still available. And if it is given a chance, it will bring others with it. Such a frightening situation can be avoided by staying completely and totally filled with the Holy Spirit and never breaking your covenant with God.
In the case of the boy who suffered severely and often fell into the fire and water in Matthew 17:15–16, more than physical healing was needed. Christ said, “Bring him here to me." And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour” (vv. 17–18).
What are the ‘divine modus operandi’ in God’s Word for deliverance and protection from demonic forces, satanic devices, and antics? The spirit of jealousy is a “worldly spirit." It controls people who are carnal-minded. To overcome the spirit of jealousy, we must identify with Christ Jesus and be united with Him.
The lying spirit is a religious spirit. It is a superstitious spirit. Only the truth can confront and overcome the lying spirit. It is not just knowing the Bible that sets us free; it is knowing and embracing Jesus Christ—the One Who is the personification of truth.
He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6 KJV
The familiar spirit is “the spirit of error.” It manipulates people with false prophecy, false dreams, and false visions. It is a'spirit of mediocre’ (average). To overcome the familiar spirit and be totally free from its grip, you must bear “the testimony of Jesus.” The Testimony of Jesus Christ is “The Spirit of Prophecy.” And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the Testimony of Jesus, worship God, for the Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. Rev 19:10 KJV
Apostle John bore “the testimony of Jesus” even while banished and abandoned on the island of Patmos (see Rev. 1:9; 1:2).
Every demon and the entire horde of the kingdom of darkness bow to the name of Jesus Christ. The eternal Father has freely bestowed on The Son the name that is above every name, and so, in honour of the name of Jesus Christ, all beings in heaven, on earth, and under earth [the world of the spiritual dead] will fall on their knees. And every tongue [frankly and openly] confesses and acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11).
The spirit of perversion is “the spirit of lust and covetousness.” The spirit of perversion controls people with sexual impurity and all who dishonour their bodies among themselves, abandoning them to the degrading power of sin. It is a lustful spirit, ruling over men who lust after women and women who lust after men. Lust after women is a perverted spirit. The spirit of perversion controls people who are into homosexuality or prostitution.
The formula for winning the fight against the spirit of perversion is in Proverbs 4:23–27. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil (NIV).
The spirit of perversion strives to control the heart of man, as whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart (see Matt. 15:18). For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander (v. 19).
The Bible declares that salvation comes through confession. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Rom 10:10 NIV
And in chapter 10, verse 9, it says: If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
The aim of the spirit of heaviness is to bring sadness, depression, grief, and sorrow—to quench the joy of the spirit in you. The enemy knows that if you lose this joy, you will not be able to access God’s throne of grace, and if this occurs, you will not be able to receive new revelations and new anointings. The remedy for releasing the spirit of heaviness is found in Isaiah 61:1–3. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because The Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the Day of Vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion; to give unto them beauty for ashes; the oil of joy for mourning; the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness; the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified. (KJV)
Praise drives away the heaviness of the heart. The joy of the Lord enables you to grow in His grace. But heaviness of heart breaks your link with heaven. It is extremely difficult for a sad heart to hear the voice of God. Our Redeemer is called the Messiah, the Christ, because He was anointed with the Oil of Joy (Gladness) above his fellows.
The spirit of fear fights against faith. Its aim is to make you remain in unbelief or doubt as a result of your own fear. Fear can be described as an unpleasant feeling of anxiety or apprehension caused by the presence or anticipation of danger. Fear is the opposite of faith. Even the mighty become weak if they submit to fear. When you fear, you cannot be strong (when you fear, then you cannot use the weapon in your arsenal). At that moment, when you surrender to fear, you will be unable to see the God of salvation. Don't live in dread of what frightens the world! Reference The LORD— He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe. Fear GOD! Wait for the LORD, and you will behold the glory of Adonai. He says, So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My Righteous Right Hand. Isaiah 41:10 NIV
When we properly fear the Lord, all evil will be afraid of us because of the Spirit of God in us. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Psa. 111:10) and the beginning of knowledge of the Holy One (Prov. 9:10; 1:7). For God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7 KJV
The spirit of suicide is one of the devil’s most strategic “condemnation machinery” against the human race. The devil is an assassin—going to and fro the earth, seeking whom he may devour. Suicide is gloomy; it is darkness, and it is one of the strongest weapons and strategies of the enemy against the soul of man. By fervent prayer with trust in God, the Lord of Hosts can pursue His enemies to their ultimate destruction (like Judas, who became a traitor and betrayed the Son of Man)—or, by the same token, give the grace for salvation (like the thief that received the gift of salvation on the cross).
The demon of rebellion is the representative of Satan—the master of rebellion himself. To be totally free from the spirit of rebellion, we must be sanctified by the Holy Spirit so that we can be obedient to Christ. Then, we can be filled with the Spirit so that we can live a Spirit-filled life. The Church is the Bride of Christ, and when she becomes completely submitted and obedient to Him, she will be fully secured and made ready to punish every insubordination. The Church has already been given the divine authority to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, but to effectively bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, God’s people must be completely submitted and obedient to Christ.
The religious spirit is “the spirit of idolatry.” Prophet Ezekiel saw the image or the seat of idol of this evil spirit: And He put forth the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head; and The Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the door of the inner [court] which faces towards the north, where was the seat of the idol (image) of jealousy, which provokes ealousy. Ezek 8:3, 5 AMP
The aim of this spirit is to seek worship from men—to keep God far off His "temple,” and we are the temple of God. ‘The religious spirit,’ today, has bound many of God's people in churches and places of fellowship. Many have idolised their church leaders, and many outside the church are introduced to 'hero worship'. Too many people hold superstitious beliefs. The religious spirit cannot operate where the Spirit of the Lord is. Where the true worshippers worship God, there is the Spirit of the LORD, and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty. Now the Lord is that Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Cor. 3:17 KJV
Where the Holy Spirit is present, there is freedom. Where he is absent, there is bondage. Where He is present, there is light, but where He is not present, there is darkness! Worship God in spirit and truth. Worship Him in your innermost being—fully dependent on His Spirit, in truth [in reality, as He is revealed in Scripture]. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, Christ is celebrated. There you have Liberty by The SPIRIT.
Any person who doesn't believe that Jesus is the Christ, "the anointed one,” is antichrist. Also, whoever does not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is antichrist—such a person is a liar against the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 1 John 2:22–23 NIV
“The spirit of the antichrist” does not agree that Jesus came in the flesh. Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 2 John 7-8 NIV
We are warned in II John to not receive people who are disloyal to the teachings of Jesus. If anyone comes to you and does not bring the doctrine of Christ, do not receive him [do not accept him; do not welcome or admit him into your house] nor give him any encouragement. Whoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He who abideth in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, nor bid him God speed; for he that bids him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 9-11 KJV
Anybody who wishes such a success and who encourages him, wishing him a safe trip or successful endeavour, is a partaker in his evil doings. “The spirit of the antichrist” already operates in many of today’s churches. Beware! They do not have the Father and the Son!
Condemnation of those who worship the beast and receive his mark is recorded in Revelation 14:9–12. “The tribulation saints” will endure it and maintain their testimony of Jesus—they will be faithful to Him, even in the face of torture and death [the wrath of Satan]. A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name." This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. NIV
So, at this very "prophetic hour," God is saying: "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Rev 18:4-5 KJV
When man sinned by disobeying God in “the Adamic Covenant,” man then fell short of glory, and death reigned from the time of Adam and became king over humanity (Rom 5:14). Death got the upper hand through one man's wrongdoing. So Adam died in the same millennium as his birth. Methuselah, the man who lived the longest years on earth, also died in the same millennium of his birth—at age 969 (see Gen 5:27). Death became an appointment for humanity. Therefore, man is destined to die, but only once. "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement” (Heb 9:27 KJV).
The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy; he strives to terminate and destroy a natural life—he desires to lead souls to hell, that they be destroyed by “the second death.” But God has given eternal life through His Son to all who grasp His abundant provision of grace and His righteousness, setting everything right, through Him. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ? Rom 5:17 NIV
There is no judging guilty of wrong for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh but after the dictates of the Spirit. There is therefore now no condemnation to them, who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:1-2 KJV
So, we are reconciled to God the Father through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we are saved through His life. We have new life through His resurrection breath. God’s Son is glorified through this life that He has given to us. He is the resurrection and the life.
After the White Throne Judgement, death and Hades [the grave], and the unrighteous will be cast into “the lake of ire," Then I saw a great white throne and him, who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:11–15 NIV
The second heaven is the realm of the stronghold of the kingdom of darkness, which consists of principalities and powers. “Principalities” are demons in charge of territories, nations, provinces, and domains—as their sphere of influence, assigned to them by Satan himself. They are the nearest to Satan—"the prince of the power of the air.”
Next to them are "powers,” which hold Satan’s seat of power and headquarters. They are demons with satanic authority, influence, dominion, and control over people. Some of them, like “principalities,” are giant fallen angels, which are the devil’s ‘power bloc.’ Some of them are ‘world rulers,’ having global influence on people and events. Some of the devil’s demons are “spiritual wickedness” operating in hell. They are placed in charge of “the gates of hell.” Jesus said: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matt 16:18 KJV
When “The Day of the LORD” comes, the time of God’s wrath upon the earth is to punish Satan’s armies in ‘heavenly places’ [the second heaven]—principalities and powers—and spiritual wickedness in “the kingdom of the air.” And such a time when the LORD of Host will punish the kings on the earth below. On that day, the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below. They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and punished after many days. The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed, for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously. Isa 24:21–23 NIV
God does as He pleases with “the powers of heaven” [fallen angels in the second heaven] and the people of the earth. All the people of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him, "What have you done?" Dan 4:35 NIV
Christ Jesus will destroy their dominion, authority, and power, and then He will hand over the kingdom of the world to the Father. Then, God the Father will put everything under the feet of Jesus Christ—God the Son (see I Cor. 15:24–25). The Lord says to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet." Ps 110:1 NIV
Already, Jesus Christ disarmed principalities and powers, triumphing over them on the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Col 2:15 NIV
On the cross, He spoiled Satan's power to accuse us of sin, and the Holy Spirit openly displayed to the whole world Christ's triumph at the cross, where our sins were all taken away.
Principalities and powers are in submission to Christ, just like angels are. Who is gone into heaven and is on the right hand of God; angels, authorities, and powers are being made subject to Him. 1 Pet. 3:22 KJV
To maintain our position of victory over principalities and powers and over all spiritual wickedness [works of the devil], we must grow powerful in union with the Lord. We must grow in His Mighty Power. We become empowered through our union with Him. And when this is done, He gives us Heavenly armour to put on and spiritual weapons for warfare—when we use this Heavenly armour and weaponry that God provides, led by the Spirit, against the deceptive tactics of the devil, then principalities and rulers of darkness are displaced, and demons are dealt with. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Eph 6:10–18 KJV
To effectively wage war against the evil, strong men and emerge victorious, we must put on the whole armour of od. We also need to use the weapons of warfare: For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience once your obedience is complete. 2 Cor 10:3-6 NIV
The Lord wants to fill that empty void after casting the devil out. That’s why He sent The Comforter. He wants you to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Right now, the Spirit is on earth. In fact, he is waiting patiently for your invitation.
Get out of the valley of defeat and get onto the mountaintop of victory!
